Bruce Willis\u00a0is going through a “really difficult time” following his aphasia diagnosis, according to pal\u00a0Sylvester Stallone.<\/h4>\n

Iconic Die Hard actor’s\u00a0aphasia diagnosis was announced by his family in March this year, as they revealed he would be stepping back from the limelight.<\/p>\n

The condition means retired\u00a0Hollywood legend Bruce, 67,\u00a0could one day lose the ability to understand or express speech.<\/p>\n

Aphasia is when a person has “difficulty with their language or speech” and is usually caused by “damage to the left side of the brain”, according to the\u00a0NHS.<\/p>\n

Sylvester\u00a0has now opened up about his friend’s condition, admitting that he is “so sad” for his pal and his ongoing health issues.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter,\u00a0he said: “Bruce is going through some really, really difficult times. So he\u2019s been sort of incommunicado. That kills me. It\u2019s so sad.”<\/p>\n

He was one of the first friends to speak publicly back in March when his diagnosis was first revealed to fans, wishing him well on social media.<\/p>\n

“We go back a long way. Praying for the best for you and your wonderful family,” he penned alongside a carousel of pictures of Bruce.<\/p>\n

At the time, his family statement read: “To Bruce\u2019s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.<\/p>\n

“As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”<\/p>\n

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support.<\/p>\n

“We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.”<\/p>\n

“As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”<\/p>\n

It comes after a lawyer representing actor Bruce insisted that the star “wanted to work” after it was alleged that a producer continued to work with him despite knowing about his health issues.<\/p>\n

According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, producer Randall Emmett \u2013 who worked with Willis on several films \u2013 knew the actor had been struggling during filming but allowed him to continue.<\/p>\n

In response to the LA Times piece, Willis’ lawyer Martin Singer said: “My client continued working after his medical diagnosis because he wanted to work and was able to do so, just like many others diagnosed with aphasia who are capable of continuing to work.<\/p>\n

“Because Mr. Willis appeared in those films, they could get financed. That resulted in literally thousands of people having jobs, many during the COVID-19 pandemic.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
