Julie Chrisley Recalls Being by Faye\u2019s Side During Cancer Diagnosis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Faye was initially diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. While Todd, 56, & Julie were still behind bars, Faye publicly shared in 2023 that she was in remission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI think people don\u2019t realize it, which I think is just such a God thing. When you were diagnosed with bladder cancer, I was there with you,\u201d Julie recalled. \u201cWe went to Vanderbilt. We did what we had to do to get through that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Julie noted the timing of her return home as divine: \u201cThat truly was a God moment because that is something \u2026 I\u2019m sure you had these same thoughts that, \u2018Oh, my God, am I going to be alive when my kids come home?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Throughout the podcast, Julie shared how much she values her role as a caretaker. He explained how hard it was not to be there for Faye during those critical moments while she was incarcerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat was something that you used to talk about in the emails to me,\u201d Todd told Julie. \u201c[You said], \u2018I worry so much about not being there for your mother because I was with her for every appointment.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Julie affirmed her deep attachment to the role: \u201cThat was my fear, that you and that my parents would remain healthy and be OK until I could get there because I have always been that one to be the caretaker. I love that role. That is a role that I cherish.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the health scare, Faye maintained her trademark optimism and faith throughout the experience. \u201cI always say God has a plan,\u201d Faye said. \u201cJust stick with it. Stay focused. But I had great, great doctors, friends, that I cherish until death, that have been good to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Julie echoed the sentiment: \u201cIt was a blessing that I was there for that doctor\u2019s visit.
