Todd Chrisley can always lean on his mom, Nanny Faye Chrisley, for support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The matriarch of the Chrisley family \u2014 and bonafide fan favorite of the USA Network reality series Chrisley Knows Best \u2014 grew up in South Carolina, where she rose with the sun, learning how to feed the hogs and the chickens and milk the cows. Nanny Faye and her late husband, Gene Chrisley, welcomed three sons together, one of whom became a TV star: Todd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chrisley Knows Best, which aired from 2014 to 2023, centered around Todd’s boisterous family consisting of his five children \u2014 Lindsie, Kyle, Chase, Savannah and Grayson \u2014 alongside his wife, Julie Chrisley. However, the real star of the show was Todd\u2019s mother, who is known for her witty one-liners and love for gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nanny Faye\u2019s greatest hardship came in 2022 when her son and daughter-in-law were convicted of fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy. Todd and Julie were sentenced to a combined total of 19 years in prison, though those have since been reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Lindsie\u2019s podcast, The Southern Tea, Nanny Faye shared that \u201cmy heart is broke\u201d over the couple\u2019s imprisonment. During another podcast appearance in June 2023, Nanny Faye said she\u2019s trying to be a \u201cbackbone\u201d for her grandchildren despite being in a \u201cdark place\u201d herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am the queen, and the Sergeant is still barking orders. I have to be the backbone. I have been, and I will be,\u201d she explained. \u201cI check on each and everyone to make sure they’re doing what they need to be doing. \u2026 I know that there [is] going to be light at the end of the tunnel.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nanny Faye was married to Gene Chrisley, an Army soldier who fought in the Korean War, up until he died in 2012, per an obituary. The pair tied the knot in the \u201860s before settling down in Atlanta, where they raised their sons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Nanny Faye, Gene had a close relationship with his grandchildren: In a tribute shared on Instagram, Savannah described her grandfather as one of her “best friends,” who was always encouraging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy Papa Gene was my BIGGEST supporter and fan! I don\u2019t think he ever missed a horse show or school event growing up. We were inseparable,\u201d she wrote alongside a throwback snap of her and Chase with Gene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Savannah continued, \u201cI miss you papa\u2026but I thank God for the 15 years that He gave me with you because those were the BEST 15 years. We miss you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nanny Faye and Gene welcomed three sons together: Todd, Randy and Derrick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While viewers have gotten accustomed to seeing Nanny Faye and Todd\u2019s playful relationship on-screen, Randy prefers to keep his life out of the spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 2014, Randy was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and although Todd hasn’t shared further updates about his brother, he appears to be doing well. Randy occasionally posts about his family on Facebook, including a birthday shout-out to Nanny Faye in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Happy birthday to the best mom anyone could ever wish for,” he captioned a photo of her. “I love you more than anything in the world. Hope you have a great day.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, Todd has praised their mother\u2019s hard work ethic and parenting skills on a number of occasions, both on the show and online. In a 2020 Instagram post, he thanked Nanny Faye for supporting him and Randy and for teaching him to appreciate \u201cthe little things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“God bless my mama, she worked 60 hours a week in a textile mill to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed,\u201d Todd captioned an old photo of him and Randy as kids during Christmastime. \u201cI love you mama.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chrisleys have briefly spoken about Derrick, who died when he was 4 months old in 1971.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI love my grandbabies more than anything in this world. When God gave me ya\u2019ll, he just blessed me,\u201d she said on Savannah\u2019s Unlocked podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though Kyle has had a rocky relationship with his relatives over the years, Nanny Faye confirmed they\u2019re in a much better place and chat \u201cat least once or twice a day.\u201d She also mentioned that he sometimes dog sits, and they enjoy meeting at Waffle House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He comes, we grill out hamburgers. Him and [his wife] Ashleigh. The kids come, and the door is always open,” Nanny Faye said on Lindsie\u2019s The Southern Tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a 2022 birthday post to Nanny Faye, Savannah called her grandmother \u201cmy forever girl\u201d and thanked her for the endless \u201chugs, laughs, kisses, long talks.\u201d Earlier that same year, Savannah noted that her grandma \u201cmakes everything better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todd first opened up about his mother\u2019s diagnosis in June 2022. On his podcast, Chrisley Confessions, he shared Nanny Faye had been undergoing \u201ctreatment weekly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several months later, Savannah praised Nanny Faye for being a \u201cchamp\u201d throughout chemotherapy, noting that her grandmother wasn\u2019t letting cancer keep her from doing what she loves \u2014 visiting her favorite casino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“She would get her chemo treatment, the next day she would be down for the count and then after that, she’d be in the car on the way to the casino,” Savannah said Unlocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September 2023, Nanny Faye revealed on her granddaughter Lindsie\u2019s show, The Southern Tea, that she was in remission after first receiving her diagnosis two years prior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m blessed every day. My grandchildren are good to me \u2026 I love each and every one of them,\u201d Nanny she said. \u201cAs far as my health, everyone knows I\u2019ve had bladder cancer. I\u2019m in remission, thank God. I\u2019ve been out moving around, doing the best I can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has a special bond with Todd\u2019s wife, Julie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nanny Faye and Todd may be two peas in a pod, but fans also watched a unique connection forge between Nanny Faye and Todd\u2019s wife, Julie, over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From bonding over family recipes to playing hilarious pranks on Todd, the pair are arguably just as tight, and their relationship only grew closer with Nanny Faye\u2019s cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“There wasn’t one treatment [for my bladder cancer] where my precious daughter-in-law wasn’t with me \u2014 not one time,” she said on Unlocked<\/em>. “Through it all, she’s been with me.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nanny Faye continued, adding that even before her health scare, Julie\u00a0always made a point to reach out\u00a0and check in on her daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“She’d call me three or four times every day. And by seven o clock, she had called me to see if I was OK and to see if I had a good night,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter where she\u2019s traveling, Nanny Faye\u2019s first stop on vacation is always the casino. \u201cI\u2019ve been all over, and any place I go, I Google to see if there\u2019s a casino around,\u201d she explained on Chrisley Knows Best<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, Todd and his kids have\u00a0caught Nanny Faye gambling\u00a0and visiting casinos many times throughout the show\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nanny Faye has even tried to teach her grandchildren a few tricks. In an Instagram photo of her, Savannah and Chase,\u00a0she joked, \u201cLove these children. But I like them more when they go gambling with me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During an\u00a0Unlocked<\/em>\u00a0podcast episode, Chase dropped by to share his \u201cbest memory\u201d with Nanny Faye, which included the duo going on a weekend-long winning streak at casinos in Florida and Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe got, like, $3,000 out of me! I was like, ‘I’m just confused what I’m [doing].’ She said, ‘Well, I need money to play.’ I said, ‘You have a big stack of chips right there.’ She said, ‘Well, it don’t hurt,\u2019 \u201d Chase recalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is excited to make her return to reality TV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the cancellation of Chrisley Knows Best<\/em> in 2022, Nanny Faye and Savannah opened up about the possibility of filming a new reality series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While appearing on Unlocked<\/em>, Nanny Faye said she\u2019s \u201cready to go to work\u201d and reunite with viewers. \u201cI love my fans wherever they are, far and near,\u201d she told her granddaughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
