A host of celebrities have vowed to quit Twitter now\u00a0Elon Musk\u00a0has bought the social media platform.<\/h4>\n

The\u00a0world\u2019s richest man\u00a0bought the network for a whopping \u00a334.5 billion last week and promised users \u2018free speech\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Tesla CEO, who has over 112 million followers, tweeted back in April before the sale went through: \u201cI hope that even my worst critics remain on\u00a0Twitter, because that is what free speech means.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now he is\u00a0officially in charge at Twitter HQ, he teased: \u201cThe bird is freed.\u201d<\/p>\n

But not everyone is happy about the takeover \u2013 including some high profile celebrities, who have threatened to quit the social media platform for good<\/p>\n

Here are all the famous faces who say they will no longer tweet now Musk is at the helm.<\/p>\n

Jameela Jamil<\/h4>\n
\"Jameela<\/figure>\n

When Musk announced he was buying Twitter earlier this year,\u00a0Jameela Jamil\u00a0was one of the first celebs to say she was leaving.<\/p>\n

At the time she wrote: \u201cAh he got Twitter. I would like this to be my what lies here as my last tweet.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust really *any* excuse to show pics of Barold,\u201d she wrote, adding a series of photos of the dog she shares with her musician boyfriend James Blake.<\/p>\n

\u201cI fear this free speech bid is going to help this hell platform reach its final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny. Best of luck.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite this, The Good Life star still has a Twitter account with 1 million followers, but hasn\u2019t been active since October 26 \u2013 a day before Musk took over.<\/p>\n

Mia Farrow<\/h4>\n
\"Mia<\/figure>\n

Actress\u00a0Mia Farrow\u00a0also threatened to leave Twitter back in April after fears the platform would become \u201ctoxic\u201d and \u201chateful\u201d following Musk\u2019s takeover.<\/p>\n

In a since-deleted tweet, The Watcher star said: \u201cWell if Twitter becomes even more toxic \u2013 with Trumpy-treasonous lies; all the hatred \u2013 it will be taken less seriously, and people like me will quit for peace of mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Addressing Musk directly, she tweeted: \u201cKeep Twitter worthy of your previous achievements and of lawful people everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

As it stands, the 77-year-old has kept her Twitter account and is still regularly active.<\/p>\n

Last week she told her 474,000 followers her fears had come true, saying: \u201cMinutes after Elon Musk became Twitter\u2019s owner, the platform was filled with profanity and a torrent of racist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobia, homophobic and transphobic hate speech.\u201d<\/p>\n

Toni Braxton<\/h4>\n
\"Toni<\/figure>\n

Toni Braxton\u00a0has said she is \u201cshocked and appalled\u201d at what she has seen on Twitter since Musk took over.<\/p>\n

The Un-Break My Heart singer claimed the platform was \u201cno longer a safe space\u201d for her family and people of colour.<\/p>\n

In a tweet on October 29, the 55-year-old wrote: \u201cI\u2019m shocked and appalled at some of the \u201cfree speech\u201d I\u2019ve seen on this platform since its acquisition.<\/p>\n

\u201cHate speech under the veil of \u201cfree speech\u201d is unacceptable; therefore I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, my sons and other POC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although she has remained silent on the social media app since, she has yet to delete her account, which has 1.8 million followers.<\/p>\n

Josh Gad<\/h4>\n
\"Josh<\/figure>\n

Actor\u00a0Josh Gad, who is most famous for voicing the snowman Olaf in the Frozen films, said he was \u201cnot sure\u201d whether to stay or go.<\/p>\n

Voicing his concerns with his 673,000 followers, the 41-year-old said: \u201cLarge exodus happening on this platform. Not sure if I stay or not.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeaning towards staying, but if today is a sign of things to come, not sure what the point is.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cFreedom of speech is great. Hate speech intended to incite harm (with no consequences) ain\u2019t what I signed up for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alex Winter<\/h4>\n
\"Alex<\/figure>\n

The only celeb to have actually deleted their Twitter account is Bill and Ted star\u00a0Alex Winter.
\nThe actor, who played Bill in the film alongside sidekick Keanu Reeves, appears to have quit the platform for good.<\/p>\n

A link to his previous account now says: \u2018This account doesn\u2019t exist\u2019.<\/p>\n

Explaining himself in an email, he said: \u201cElon Musk taking over Twitter and making it a private company with less oversight has immediately made the platform more prone to hate speech, targeted attacks and the spread of disinformation.”<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Twitter returns to being a public company run by rational actors, many of us will return,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

George Takei<\/h4>\n
\"Star<\/figure>\n

Star Trek star\u00a0George Takei\u00a0has 3.4 million followers and can often be found tweeting several times a day.<\/p>\n

He has called Musk \u201cincredibly irresponsible\u201d for retweeting a conspiracy theory about the attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi\u2019s husband Paul.<\/p>\n

But even if he doesn\u2019t agree with some of the things Musk does, the 85-year-old actor said he is \u201cgoing nowhere\u201d.<\/p>\n

When news of Musk buying Twitter was announced, Takei said: \u201cShould this place become more toxic. I pledge to strive even harder to lift up reason, science, compassion and the rule of law.\u201d<\/p>\n
