Aaron Carter,\u00a0the brother of\u00a0Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter,\u00a0has died.<\/h4>\n

The singer, 34,\u00a0was discovered at his home in California after police officers received a 911 call at 11am – his representatives confirmed his death earlier this evening.<\/p>\n

US media outlets reported the body was found in a bathtub.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said that a suspicious death took place at Carter’s property – but could not confirm the identity.<\/p>\n

“Right now it\u2019s a really bad time we\u2019re trying to figure out what happened and what the cause of it was,\u201d a representative from the singer\u2019s team told the PA news agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just as upset as everyone and hope that fans can give thoughts and prayers to his family.\u201d<\/p>\n

He’s the brother of Backstreet Boy’s Nick Carter and was launched into the spotlight after he opened for them on their 1997 tour.<\/p>\n

He also supported Britney Spears when he was younger, and he got his first record deal when he was just nine.<\/p>\n

He later released his self-titled album Aaron Carter, which reached gold status.<\/p>\n

He went on to release Aaron’s Party (Come and Get It) in 2000 and that went triple platinum.<\/p>\n

His brother Nick has not confirmed anything on Instagram.<\/p>\n

The last post he shared was on stage with the boys in Germany.<\/p>\n

Aaron was pulled over this week after his former girlfriend Melanie Martin “called the police” on him.<\/p>\n

TMZ reported that cops got a call about a driver possibly driving whilst under the influence and swerving through traffic.<\/p>\n

Aaron was tested for alcohol in his system at the time and the results revealed that he had not been drinking.<\/p>\n

Melanie, 35, who shares a son with Aaron, was driving behind him at the time of the call.<\/p>\n

After the investigation was completed, Aaron accidentally locked his keys inside the vehicle and had to retrieve them by climbing through the roof hatch.<\/p>\n

He is survived by his twin sister, Angel and sister Bobbie Jean.<\/p>\n

Aaron’s sister Leslie passed away in 2012 when she was 25 from a drug overdose<\/p>\n

The singer had a half sister Virginia Marie, half brother Kaden and stepsister Taelyn.<\/p>\n

Aaron’s last Instagram post was of his latest song that he collaborated on with Mic Garcia.
\nIn Garcia’s latest Instagram story he is seen looking at his phone with a shocked expression.<\/p>\n

“That’s not real bro, that’s not real,” he repeated.<\/p>\n

He continued: “That’s not real, I was coming there tomorrow, that’s not real. Oh my god please, this is not a f****** joke. What the f*** is going on?”<\/p>\n

Aaron became a father in November last year.<\/p>\n

However, he and Melanie split just two days after they welcomed their son Prince.<\/p>\n

He has spoken openly about his battles with substance abuse and his mental health.<\/p>\n

He appeared on the show The Doctors, where he spoke about the pills he was taking.<\/p>\n

In a social media live a few months ago, he said that he hadn’t relapsed but was checking into a rehab to help him cope.<\/p>\n

He said, “I haven’t had any relapses or anything like that, it’s just triggers are big right now for me [and] I want my son back,”<\/p>\n
