Ngcobo, South Africa \u2013<\/strong> A group of five men is in critical condition after attempting to rob what they thought was a cash-in-transit vehicle \u2014 only to discover it was transporting something far more efficient at biting back: live snakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to stunned witnesses, the men pounced on the truck along the R61 just outside Ngcobo, armed with pangas, bravado, and a complete lack of research. They allegedly forced the driver out at gunpoint, tied him up with cable ties, and began ripping open crates, fully expecting to find cash, gold bars, or at the very least, a few iPhones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, what they unleashed was a vengeful cargo of 87 snakes, including three black mambas, a dozen puff adders, and one particularly moody python named \u201cRihanna\u201d (because she doesn\u2019t just strike back \u2014 she shines bright like a diamond<\/em> while doing it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese Notes Are Moving!\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the suspects reportedly shouted \u201cYoh! Yoh! These notes are moving!\u201d just before being bitten in the ankle by a cape cobra that clearly didn\u2019t appreciate being mistaken for a R200 bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another was overheard screaming, \u201cThey said it was a Snake Bank! I thought that meant secret offshore accounts!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The snake handlers, who arrived late because they were \u201con lunch and didn\u2019t expect idiots,\u201d managed to recover 82 of the snakes. The remaining five are reportedly still on the loose, but the SAPS has issued a statement assuring the public that \u201cthey\u2019re trained to bite only criminals.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driver Unshaken, Snakes Unforgiving<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sizwe Maseko<\/strong>, the driver of the truck, still shaken but unharmed, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey hijacked the wrong guy, bru. This isn\u2019t Standard Bank. This is Standard Boa!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five injured robbers are currently in hospital under police guard, suffering from multiple venomous bites and a rare but appropriate condition known as \u201ccriminal idiocy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are expected to survive, but doctors warn they may never walk straight again \u2014 not because of the bites, but because \u201cthey bent logic so hard it damaged their spines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the snakes are being hailed as heroes on social media. A campaign has already been launched to award Rihanna the python with the \u201cOrder of the Baobab in Gold (Venom Edition)\u201d<\/strong> for her patriotic defense of cargo integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
