McBee Dynasty: Money, Family, and Cracks That Can’t Be Hidden

When The McBee Dynasty first aired, many viewers had high hopes. Some were even drawn in because Jesse looked a lot like Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce in Yellowstone. But as the season unfolded, disappointment set in as the show exposed the darker side of the McBee family dynamic — especially in how they treat the women around them.

Galyna: Both Essential and Disposable
There’s no denying Galyna is the financial backbone of the family business. She arranges meetings, calculates costs, and keeps the investments moving forward. Even the McBees admit, “We don’t want to upset Galyna right now.” Yet instead of being valued, she’s often treated like an outsider — or worse, disposable.

Fans were particularly outraged at Steve Sr., who made it clear he didn’t want a relationship with Galyna, yet had no problem using her whenever it suited him. For many, this exposed him as selfish and manipulative, setting a toxic example for his sons: that women can be treated however men please, and responsibility can be dodged whenever things get tough.

Steve Jr.: Following His Father’s Footsteps
Unfortunately, Steve Jr. seems to be repeating his father’s mistakes. He allows others to dismiss Calah, without ever making the effort to understand her himself. The fallout with Cole only emphasized his neglect. One fan bluntly summed it up: “If my boyfriend treated me like that, I would have slapped him in the face.”

Steve Jr.’s lack of professionalism also came under fire. Arriving two and a half hours late with a meat delivery at Arthur Bryant’s wasn’t just a financial loss — it revealed his poor preparation. A man “carrying the legacy” should know brisket takes 8–10 hours of slow smoking, and that trimming off the fat ruins the flavor. Instead, he leaned too heavily on Galyna, who can’t be expected to carry the entire burden forever.

Cole’s Cycle of Drinking and Forgiveness
Then there’s Cole, who contributes little but chaos. Each time the family leaves town, he drinks heavily and flirts with other women, while poor Kacie repeatedly forgives him. To viewers, he’s become less of a businessman and more of a liability.

A Double Standard for Men and Women
What frustrated fans the most was the glaring double standard: when the men feel stressed, they’re free to leave the ranch and “unwind.” But why aren’t the women allowed the same escape? It’s no wonder they feel trapped in monotony and pressure.

Jesse: The Lone Bright Spot
Amidst the chaos, Jesse stands out as the only man viewers still root for. His genuine character and proposal to Ally gave fans a glimpse of hope — that maybe, just maybe, the McBee family’s legacy could include more than drama and disappointment.

The McBee Dynasty promised a story of heritage and hard work, but instead it revealed dysfunction, exploitation, and a troubling view of relationships. With fans now describing Jesse as “the only decent man on the show,” the McBee family may need to rethink what kind of legacy they truly want to leave behind.
