Calah Jackson is finally opening up about the end of her relationship with Steven McBee Jr., and she isn’t holding back. Speaking to Us Weekly, Calah revealed that being in a relationship with the McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys star was far different than she expected—and ultimately, it cost her more than she realized at the time.

The pair first met in 2021 on Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer, sparking a romance that quickly became a centerpiece of the McBee family’s reality TV world. But during filming of season 2 of The McBee Dynasty, cracks began to show. Calah admitted that while dating Steven, she often overlooked “warning signs” that only became clear when she watched the show back.
“I felt like I lost a part of myself during the relationship,” Calah confessed, reflecting on her time with Steven.

The show documented mounting tensions between the couple, with one particularly explosive moment in the Ozarks where Steven sided with his brother Cole McBee during a heated argument against Calah. That fight ultimately pushed their relationship to its breaking point—for what Steven himself joked was the “fifteenth or sixteenth time.”
Even after their split, Steven made efforts to reconnect, including inviting Calah to his brother Jesse McBee’s wedding in fall 2024. However, Calah revealed that while they remain cordial, reconciliation is not in the cards. Their most recent meeting was at a Los Angeles press event, which she described as “polite and calm.”

The season 2 finale teases Calah’s rollercoaster emotions toward Steven, but one thing is certain—her time living on the McBee family farm in Missouri is firmly behind her.
“I truly made the farm my home and loved that lifestyle, but I don’t miss the drama and pressures that came with it,” she shared.

Now back in Dallas, Calah is focusing on herself. She described this new chapter as the happiest she has been in years, crediting her move with helping her find peace and rebuild her identity.
As for whether she’d ever consider rekindling things with Steven, Calah was reflective: “I don’t regret the relationship or the lessons learned, but I’m not sure what the future holds.”
For now, she’s prioritizing self-discovery and her mental health—while Bravo viewers continue to watch the McBee family drama unfold every Monday night.
