Chase Chrisley Finally Opens Up About Why He Avoided Therapy

In Episode 5 of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, viewers finally got to hear Chase Chrisley openly share the fears and worries that had kept him from seeking therapy.

Chase revealed that what held him back the most was a fear of being hurt all over again. For years, he admitted, he chose to bury his feelings and suppress painful memories as a way to protect himself. But in doing so, he became increasingly exhausted—both mentally and physically—leading to stress, fatigue, and even noticeable weight loss.

“I’m not sure I’m strong enough to dig up all that past. I’ve hidden it for so long… if I have to face it head-on, I’m afraid I’ll fall apart,” Chase confessed during the episode.

Despite his fear, his family has become an important source of encouragement in his journey toward healing. Savannah Chrisley has repeatedly reassured her brother that going to therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness. Nanny Faye, with her signature warmth, reminded Chase that “you don’t have to carry everything alone.”

Even Grayson—despite showing tension with Chase at times—expressed his hope that his older brother would overcome his struggles and find balance again.

The unwavering support from his family ultimately helped Chase decide to “let his guard down” and give therapy a chance. This turning point marked a powerful step in his recovery journey and became one of the most emotional highlights of Back to Reality – Episode 5.
