The long-simmering tension between Meghan King and ex-husband Jim Edmonds has boiled over into a dramatic police standoff. Newly released bodycam footage and police reports paint a chaotic picture of a domestic dispute that left the former Real Housewives of Orange County star in tears and facing the threat of handcuffs.
The Trespassing Allegation
The incident began on May 1 when Jim’s current wife, Kortnie Edmonds, called authorities to report that King had trespassed at their residence. According to reports, King was there to drop off a dress for her daughter, Aspen. However, the situation quickly escalated when King allegedly refused to hand the garment to Kortnie, demanding instead to see her daughter.
Kortnie claimed that after being told Jim and Aspen were not home, King began yelling for her daughter from the doorway and refused to leave the premises.
“I Am Going to Place You in Cuffs”
As King attempted to leave in her vehicle, she was intercepted by Frontenac Police. The bodycam footage captures a tense exchange where an officer warned the reality star, “Ma’am, I’m going to place you in cuffs if you don’t stop… we are going to detain you”.
During the encounter, a tearful King defended herself by accusing the former MLB pro of using his “name and money” to bully her. She told officers that Jim has been “incredibly emotionally abusive” throughout their ongoing post-divorce saga.

The fallout from the footage has triggered a fierce back-and-forth between the exes’ camps:
Team Meghan: Her spokesperson claims the incident has been “mischaracterized” and that King was merely trying to coordinate her children’s needs. They emphasized that King has previously sought restraining orders against Jim for alleged abuse and currently holds primary responsibility for their three children.
Team Jim: A representative for Edmonds dismissed King’s claims as “tales,” stating, “If someone is emotionally abusing her, it’s not Jim,” citing their lack of communication. They further denied King’s claims regarding custody, asserting that Jim remains an “active and present father”.
No Charges Filed
Despite Kortnie Edmonds’ request to press charges for harassment, the municipal prosecutor declined to pursue the case, officially labeling the encounter a domestic dispute.
