The Real Housewives of Orange County star Jennifer Pedranti is stepping up to bat for her son, Dawson, after his Easter Sunday attire sparked a heated debate on social media.

The 48-year-old Bravo personality took to Instagram on Sunday, April 5, to share a festive family photo following their morning church service. However, the wholesome holiday post quickly turned into a battleground in the comments section due to 19-year-old Dawson’s controversial wardrobe choice.
The Easter Post That Sparked the Drama
In the photo, Pedranti looked spring-ready in white pants, matching shoes, and a long-sleeved blue top. Standing beside her, Dawson coordinated in blue shorts, white sneakers, and a white T-shirt featuring the word “Freedom.”

Eagle-eyed followers quickly recognized the shirt as merchandise styled after Turning Point USA, the conservative nonprofit founded by the late right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk tragically died after being fatally shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
“Happy Easter,” Pedranti captioned the post. “I went to church with the kids this morning (minus Evie, she’s in Hawaii 🌈). Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter! Xoxo 🐰.”
A Divided Comment Section
It didn’t take long for the comments to flood in, with users fiercely divided over Dawson’s political apparel.

While some criticized the teen’s choice to wear the merch, others praised him for showing off his beliefs.
The Critics: “Not Charlie Kirk merch,” one disappointed follower wrote.
The Supporters: “Church and a Freedom Tee. Love it!!!” gushed one fan, while another chimed in, “Love the Freedom shirt! ❤️🤍💙.” Another user defended the teen, writing, “A lot of these comments are gross. Love his shirt, thankful for his service! Happy Easter!”
When faced with the polarizing reactions, Pedranti didn’t shy away. Responding to the fan who praised the “Freedom Tee,” the reality star proudly defended her son: “He wears this T all the time … he’s proud. Happy Easter!🐣”

A Proud Marine Mom
Dawson’s sense of patriotism ties deeply into his recent life choices. The 19-year-old joined the U.S. Marine Corps, successfully completing boot camp in late 2025.
Last June, Pedranti opened up on Instagram about the emotional toll of sending her son off to serve.
“I get a lot of DM’s asking how I’m handling @dawson_pedranti leaving for boot camp, going into the Marines. Honestly, there is no way to put it into words. I know that may sound cliche … but for me there just isn’t.”

She shared that before he left, she and her fiancé, Ryan Boyajian, took Dawson out for coffee to have a “normal” hangout without focusing on the heavy reality of his departure.
“When it’s time to go … I can’t let him go. I probably make him (Dawson) stand there and let me hug him way longer … it’s the letting go that is so hard,” she confessed at the time, adding, “I love this kid so much. I am so proud of him.”
Pedranti’s Family Dynamics
Jennifer shares Dawson with her ex-husband, William Pedranti. The former couple also shares sons Harrison, 22, Greyson, 16, and Dominic, 11, along with 13-year-old daughter Everleigh. Following their split, Jennifer was awarded sole physical custody of their three minor children in September 2025.
