In the latest episode of the Lifetime docuseries The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, the 29-year-old reality star broke his silence regarding his battle with alcohol and the fateful night that led to a viral mugshot.
ATLANTA — The former Chrisley Knows Best star opened up about his downward spiral following the incarceration of his parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, for financial fraud.

“There Was No One to Tell Me No”
Chase admitted that his parents’ absence created a power vacuum in his life, allowing him to spin out of control.
“I completely took the show for granted,” Chase confessed. “It was the best job in the world. But after my parents left, I started drinking and I just went and went. I didn’t set any limits for myself, and there was truly no one there to tell me no.”

A Fateful Night in Atlanta
In January, Chase was taken into custody at an Atlanta bar on charges of simple assault. According to police reports, a bar manager alleged that Chase became “aggressive” and struck him in the face twice after being asked to leave.

While Chase’s legal team previously claimed the situation was “grossly exaggerated,” the reality star offered a more candid perspective on his state of mind that night: He remembers almost nothing.
- The Confession: “I don’t remember much about that night, but I know I was drinking very heavily.”
- The Turning Point: “When I ended up with a mugshot, I realized I had hit rock bottom.”
A Family Divided
The arrest was more than just a personal embarrassment; it exacerbated existing fractures within the Chrisley clan.
Savannah Chrisley, Chase’s sister, revealed she attempted an intervention shortly before the arrest, only to be shut out. “I had everything set up—the plane ticket, the treatment center. We had the whole intake process done,” Savannah said through tears. “And he told me to f— off.”

Even the youngest brother, Grayson (19), didn’t hold back his frustration: “The same family he lost is the same family I lost. But I’m not going to sit there and hold his hand… he hasn’t been a brother to me.”
Reaction From Behind Bars
From prison, Todd and Julie Chrisley eventually learned of their eldest son’s legal woes. While Julie expressed that her heart was “broken” over the fear that her son was heading down a dark path, Todd took a firmer stance.

“I don’t know that I was shocked because I’ve been warning Chase for years to get out of the alcohol,” Todd said during a recorded prison phone call. “There is nothing in a bar that’s going to bring you anything but bad luck.”
The Road Ahead
Chase maintains that he has since scaled back his partying for the sake of his “mental health,” though Savannah remains skeptical of his progress. With Todd and Julie’s early release this past May, fans are waiting to see if a family reunion will provide the stability Chase desperately needs to stay on track.
