RHONJ Alums Jacqueline and Chris Laurita Hit with $760K Default Judgment Over Unpaid Legal Fees

The legal woes for former Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Jacqueline and Chris Laurita have reached a costly climax. A judge has ordered the couple to pay a staggering $760,000 after they failed to respond to a lawsuit filed by their former legal counsel.

The Breakdown of the Debt
The lawsuit, initiated by the law firm Seidman & Pincus LLC, stems from years of litigation surrounding the bankruptcy of Chris Laurita’s clothing company, Signature Apparel. According to court documents, the final judgment is a combination of long-overdue bills and significant penalties:

$342,000: Original unpaid legal fees for services rendered.

$419,000: Accrued interest due to the length of the non-payment.

Total Judgment: Approximately $761,000.

A History of Silence
The law firm claimed that they provided extensive legal services to the Lauritas during the complex bankruptcy proceedings of Chris’s business. However, despite sending numerous invoices, the firm alleges the couple simply failed to pay and, perhaps more importantly, never officially disputed the amounts owed.

Exasperated by the lack of communication and payment, Seidman & Pincus LLC officially withdrew as the couple’s representatives in 2018.

Why a “Default” Judgment?
A default judgment is typically issued when a defendant fails to appear in court or respond to a summons. By ignoring the lawsuit, the Lauritas essentially forfeited their right to contest the claims, allowing the judge to rule in favor of the law firm automatically.

“The couple failed to pay invoices and never disputed the amounts, leading to the firm’s withdrawal… and now, a massive financial penalty.”

Life After RHONJ
Since leaving the hit Bravo franchise, the Lauritas have kept a relatively lower profile, eventually moving to Nevada and then Orange County to focus on their family and son Nicholas’s progress with autism. While Jacqueline has recently resurfaced on social media—even sparking “reunion” rumors after mending her long-standing feud with Teresa Giudice—this latest financial blow serves as a stark reminder of the legal shadows still following them from their time in Jersey.

Neither Jacqueline nor Chris has released an official statement regarding the $760,000 judgment.
