After PSG reached the 2024/25 Champions League final, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma admitted that the departure of Kylian Mbappe changed the team.
Thanks to that, PSG became a unified entity and is showing an important step in becoming a new force in European football.

On the morning of May 8, Paris Saint-Germain won a ticket to the Champions League final after defeating Arsenal 2-1 in the second leg of the semi-final, thereby winning 3-1 on aggregate. PSG’s next opponent will be Inter Milan, the team that defeated Barcelona with a spectacular final score of 7-6. The top match between PSG vs Inter will take place on June 1 at the Allianz Arena, Germany.

After the match, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was full of praise for the entire squad and had some remarkable sharing with Prime Video about the change in team spirit after Kylian Mbappe’s departure.

He admitted that although he missed the French striker, the player’s departure helped the Ligue 1 champions become more united. The former AC Milan player admitted: “Maybe I shouldn’t say this but it’s true. PSG has changed, our spirit has become better.

We are all looking in the same direction and are a united group. We play for each other. We miss Kylian Mbappe. It’s a real feeling. Mbappe is one of the best players in the world and I wish him all the best because he is a great friend.”

He also said that PSG is very excited and determined at the moment: “There are certain similarities between PSG and Italy in 2020. They are teams with high solidarity and unity. At that time, Italy won the European Championship like this (EURO 2020 but held in 2021), that made a difference for every team”.

PSG’s goal is still to win the Champions League for the first time in history and complete the “treble” this season. They won Ligue 1 and reached the final of the Champions League and the French Cup.
