When Frank Catania secretly tied the knot with Brittany Mattessich in November 2024, Dr. David Principe played a very special role.
In addition to both appearing on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, David and Frank have a lot in common. Frank was married to Dolores Catania from 1994 to 1998, while David dated The Traitors cast member from 2017 until 2021.
Though Dolores and David’s relationship didn’t work out, the medical professional’s friendship with Frank did. The two lived together while David nursed Frank back to health following a serious injury, and Frank moved back in after David and Dolores split.
It shouldn’t, therefore, come as a surprise that David officiated Frank and Brittany’s wedding.
While discussing the surprise nuptials on the March 6 episode of Melissa Gorga’s podcast, On Display with Melissa Gorga, Frank confirmed David’s participation in the big day.
“You know who married us? David,” he said to Melissa and her husband, Joe Gorga.
“Oh, my God,” Melissa responded.

After a bit of an on-and-off romance, Dolores and David split up for good at the end of 2021. The following year, Frank confirmed that he had moved back in with David — even though his kids, Frankie and Gabby Catania, were living with Dolores.
On the RHONJ After Show for Season 12, Frank shared that he was mostly living with David, and that it was a “unique situation.” He also said that his ultimate goal was to buy his own house.
Fast-forward to BravoCon 2023, after Frank went public with his romance with Brittany, and he revealed that his living arrangement was changing yet again.
“Oh my God, you wanna know the s–t I caught living with David?” Frank said on a panel. “Myself and Brittany, we bought a house — it’s being renovated right now. Probably around February, we’ll be moving in together.”
Though Frank was getting ready to spread his wings without David, he noted that the two would still be neighbors.
“David is going to be very upset; yes, believe me. …” Frank continued at BravoCon. “We’re only a block away from him.”

Though Frank and Brittany are now legally married, the newlyweds are planning on having a more traditional wedding with their loved ones in the near future.
After canceling their November 2024 wedding in Florida due to a hurricane, the couple will now celebrate their union in New Jersey.
“We’re going to have it up here now,” Frank said on the podcast. “I can’t put Brittany through that again.”
He just doesn’t know when yet.
“We don’t have a date. But we’re doing it up here,” he continued. “We’re not doing it destination. So we had enough of the weather. Mother Nature just didn’t change.”
