Gracie Bon and Lizzo: Two Plus-Size Icons, Two Very Different Journeys on Social Media

Gracie Bon and Lizzo have more in common than you might think. Both are plus-size women who’ve risen to fame for promoting body positivity online. They train hard, embrace their bodies, and aren’t afraid to show it. Yet despite sharing a similar journey-challenging beauty standards-they’ve faced vastly different reactions from the public.

Gracie Bon, a well-known Instagram model, recently shared a “then and now” comparison of herself five years apart. Alongside the post, she wrote:

“If my body, my energy, or my confidence bothers you, that’s your problem—not mine. I’m not trying to lose weight to please anyone. I’m a chubby, compassionate woman.”

Similarly, singer Lizzo has openly documented her fitness journey and proudly showed off her transformed physique after staying consistent at the gym. Fans poured into her comments to thank her for showcasing a real, unedited body:

“You have no idea how refreshing it is to see a body on IG that looks like mine. Thank you, Lizzo!”

Lizzo’s workouts focus on building strength, especially targeting the back and glutes. In a recent Twitch livestream, she even stood up mid-broadcast to show off her outfit, revealing that she was wearing shapewear from her own brand, Yitty.

Gracie Bon also frequently posts sultry looks, flaunting her curvy figure and signature plus-size booty. However, unlike Lizzo, she often receives criticism, body-shaming comments, and has had to speak up repeatedly in defense of her body and identity.

Both women have denied any cosmetic surgery or shortcuts-crediting their physical changes to sheer dedication in the gym. But the disparity in how society reacts to them highlights an uncomfortable truth: body positivity isn’t always met with equal support, especially when it comes without mainstream fame or widespread social acceptance.

Still, Lizzo and Gracie continue on their individual paths-not just to love themselves but to inspire countless others trapped by society’s narrow definitions of beauty.
