According to Lindsie, those promises were made out of loyalty and love for her dad. However, after nearly two years of Todd serving his sentence, she feels they have become a mental and emotional burden — something that keeps her from living authentically.

“I kept those promises to protect my dad and our family,” she said. “But now I realize I can’t live under someone else’s expectations anymore. I need to live true to myself.”

While Lindsie didn’t specify what those promises were, many fans believe they involved protecting the family’s reputation, staying silent in the media, and avoiding discussions about past scandals — including the bitter family conflicts that once tore her and Todd apart.

The Shocking Allegations Behind the Family Rift

After her father was indicted, Lindsie Landsman (her full name) reached out to the Georgia Department of Revenue and the FBI, requesting a no-contact order against Todd and accusing him of trying to exploit her.

Previously, she had accused Todd and his son, Chase Chrisley, of attempting to extort her by threatening to release a sex tape.

“Prosecutors read the letter Lindsie wrote to the FBI,” said Savannah Chrisley, Todd and Julie’s daughter, in an episode of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality.
“We’re not a family anymore.”

Chase added,

“If your own blood can hurt you, then imagine what a stranger can do.”

Lindsie first discussed the extortion claims during a Dr. Phil appearance in October 2019, two months after Todd and Julie were convicted. She alleged that her father had asked to meet her in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he implied she had an inappropriate relationship with an IRS official.

“That’s when I was warned that Chase had compromising evidence against me — nude photos — and that he had allegedly bought the tape for $5,000,” she said.
“At that point, I ended the conversation and my attorney advised me to file a police report.”

In the final episode of Back to Reality, Todd read Lindsie’s court testimony from his and Julie’s trial, in which she stated that she no longer believed in the extortion claims involving the sex tape.

“I’m Finally Ready to Tell My Story — in My Own Words”

Now, Lindsie says her new podcast series will reveal the truth for the very first time — in her own words, backed by emails, legal correspondence, and documents that have never been made public before.

“It’s time for me to reclaim my own voice,” she declared. “I won’t let anyone else tell my story again.”

With this bold statement, many believe Lindsie is turning a major page in her life — one free from old promises, family control, and years of emotional turmoil.
