Xing Xing, a Tibetan macaque, lost her left arm more than 15 years ago after being caught in a wild boar trap.
Her injury led to amputation, and her life took a dark turn-first sold to a circus, then to a restaurant, before being abandoned near Yanghou Temple in the forest.
There, a kind elderly nun named Ye Liannu found her-frightened, starving, and injured. Despite having little, the nun took Xing Xing in, tended to her wounds, and gradually helped her adapt to a new life of peace and healing.

For over 15 years, Xing Xing has lived like a member of the temple. She spends her days by the nun’s side, sitting in quiet meditation, eating fruits, and even sipping milk through a straw-a touching sight that has warmed the hearts of visitors and internet users alike.
