Former U.S. President Donald Trump has defended the idea of holding a military parade, saying the cost is “tiny” compared to the symbolic and patriotic value it brings.
Speaking at a rally in Florida, Trump said, “We spend billions on defense every year — a parade to honor our troops is absolutely worth it.”
Trump’s proposal for a large-scale military parade in 2018 drew criticism over its estimated multimillion-dollar cost and was eventually canceled.
However, he continues to argue that such events boost national pride and showcase American strength.
While it’s unclear if the idea will be revived if Trump returns to office, his latest remarks suggest it remains a key symbolic priority for him.
