Moscow Mayor Reports Latest UAV Attack by Ukraine

This morning, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed that the Russian capital was targeted by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Ukraine.

In a statement on his Telegram channel, he said that Russian air defense systems intercepted and downed several drones aimed at the outskirts of the city.

“There were no casualties or significant damage. Emergency services are working at the scene,” Sobyanin wrote. Russia’s Defense Ministry later issued a statement confirming the attack and accusing Ukraine of continuing to use UAVs as part of a psychological pressure campaign and to disrupt civilian infrastructure.

Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on the incident. However, this is not the first time Moscow has been targeted by drone strikes since the escalation of the Russia–Ukraine conflict.

Analysts say such attacks are largely symbolic, aimed at undermining the sense of security within Russia and gaining media attention, even though actual damage may be limited.
